Ella's blanket

Well, I don't have 2 little children yet, but I have a new nephew, named Ella. Obviously she is the cutest baby ever...

I was thrilled that I will have some baby to knit to when she was born, around 3 months ago. But when babies are involved, being a slow knitter can be very frustrating.
Against bad luck, I didn't do anything before her birth, a fact that had placed me in a race against time.

First I tried to knit her the prettiest sweater ever. I swear it was! maybe one day I'll get a picture of it to prove it (note: NEVER give a knitted present before taking some good pictures of it !!!). I tried so hard to make it in the right size, that it was too tight... I don't think it has been worn more then once. So sad. I also made a matching hat, but I'm guessing it fitted for about 2 days...

So, for her 3 months birthday, my brother and his wife throw a big event. I decided for this one, I'll get it right. So I went for a blanket, so I won't get problems with size. I chose the colors carefully, and knitted vigorously, knowing hiding the loose ends will be a killer (the choices one makes knowing it ain't that smart and knowing he'll pay for it...). The event day arrived, and I still had to hide the loose ends. I worked on it the whole day, and didn't make it on time.

So, I brought them the present only yesterday, being about 3 weeks late... everyone were very nice to me, said it's very pretty, but we all knew in our harts that summer will be here in a few days, and till autumn, Ella will be too big for my pretty blanket.

I also know in my hart that all my loose ends will appear in a few days also, since I'm crappie on hiding them...

My Pink Scarf

So, where do I start. I think I'll start with my pink scarf.
The truth is I'm not really a slow knitter. I don't like knitting, it is too slow and too boring for me. The problem is that "slow crocheter" doesn't sound so good. But I'm more into crochet.

This is my pink scarf. It is quite old, but I love it. I found its pattern at the crochet me site, and I love this pattern. Exactly as described, it is a fast one, and I already made one of these scarves over night, as an emergency birthday gift...

I have to say in my opinion, the fringes are too short. Maybe one day I'll make new ones... but till then, it is what it is...

Green landscapes, 2 children & lots of time to knit

O.K. let's get this thing started... I'm LiL, not sure exactly what I'm doing here, but I guess I'll figure it out on the way.
It all started when I tried to find some patterns and knitting ideas on the web. I got to some blogs that made me jealous as hell - Mainly blogs of women with green landscapes from their windows, 2 beautiful children and lots of time to knit.
After I got over the first jealousy part, I decided I can be one of them, at list on my blog...

So, I got my new mobile phone, with a camera in it, and for the last week I've been taking pictures of me and my knitting stuff... it has been very sad to discover that my creations inherit my being not photogenic, but what can you do, genes are genes…

I've been spending the last week taking hundreds of pictures (mainly of my butt...) but I've managed to take out of those hundreds, a few normal ones.

I have time to do it now because the winter is ending here, and it's becoming too hot to knit (and I'm not much of a cotton knitter). Problem is that it is also to hot to wear those things, and I'm not much of a model too, but you'll see it yourself soon.

Most funny part is that nobody will actually read this. I'm talking to myself here, pretending to have green landscapes from my windows, 2 little children and lots of time to knit.
